Scam #1 Link Back Scam
Some Search Engine Optimisation companies will carry out work for a client to a good standard, as most people know the core foundation of SEO is an off-site strategy which heavily revolves around link building. One of the main scams which is happening more and more frequently is the Link back scam. This is were a client has terminated a contract agreement with an online marketing agency who then deletes all the backlinks to that website in order for their online visibility to drop in a bid to provoke return work. Always ask an agency what guarantees you have with their back links.
Scam #2 Top of Google or your money back!
Most people will find this to be too good to be true and it certainly is. Some online marketing agencies promise to get your website on the top of Google for 30 days minimum and then send a contract claiming this. If you sign the contract you are then obliged to pay an extortionate fee if they manage to do and maintain your results for 30 days. These types of agencies simply set up and run a Pay Per Click campaign for 30 days.
Scam #3 100,000 Backlinks for £1.99
There are some companies who will sell you a large amount of links for a very cheap price, they will then change a forum signature of an account with over 10,000 posts to your link which they remove after it has registered on tools such as Webmaster Tools.
